Method, definitions and limits
Anchor. Superintendent Troy Lamontagne reported 14 deaths through 30 June; deaths publicly reported on 22 and 26 July take the public count to 16. Two separate August fatalities bring SLPA’s provisional minimum to 18.
Reconstruction. SLPA searched accessible indexed incident reporting and counted deaths, not crash reports. Victim names are deliberately omitted here.
Limits. Four deaths remain unmatched. The record does not safely establish a complete geography, causation, fault, restraint use, impairment or a consistent 30-day classification.
Correction, 23 September. The earlier annualised projection and 2025 percentage comparison have been removed. The cited 2025 figure described fatal collisions, not an established comparable count of people killed. The 18 September Cas En Bas injuries are not added to the fatality ledger.
Revision rule. An official incident-level register supersedes this reconstruction. SLPA will preserve a dated correction note when a material record changes.

How SLPA publishes estimates, evidence gaps and corrections.
Every reconstructed or computed figure carries its period, source, method, uncertainty and review date. SLPA will use a range when a point estimate would create false precision, and will publish “unknown” when no safe estimate is possible.
Soft signals and allegations never silently become facts. A source’s claim stays attributed to that source. Causes, legal liability and personal blame are left to the competent evidence and lawful process.
Corrections should preserve the prior cutoff, explain the change and identify the superseding record. Official data remain the authority; SLPA’s role is to make the public record easier to see, test and use.

The 6:00 pm report issued on 27 September forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies, scattered showers, a chance of isolated thunderstorms, easterly winds near 17 mph and moderate seas of 4 to 6 feet. Moist and unstable conditions enhanced by an upper-level trough are expected across the Lesser Antilles.
